Adult Training Coordinator Phindile Gazu

Phindile Gazu is a Training Coordinator for Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation’s Ocean Campus and holds Baccalaureus of Technologiae (B-Tech) in Nature Conservation and an Environmental Education Training & Development Practices (EETDP) Qualification. Her early career included working with renowned organisations such as uShaka Sea World Education Centre, Durban Natural Science Museum, WESSA, Cape Nature, and SANBI. These roles provided her with hands-on experience in planning and implementing impactful environmental education programmes. She is passionate about fostering environmental awareness and conservation through education.

Head of Research Dr Nathalie Viljoen

As Head of Research, I enable and facilitate biophysical research at the Two Oceans Aquarium in collaboration with Higher Education Institutes and Research Institutes in South Africa and abroad. Through these research collaborations we aim to nurture future ocean leaders and prepare them to impact decision making around this marine resource. The study of fish and its role it plays in the environment affecting people’s lives is of critical importance in our pursuit to manage these resources sustainably.

Founder of The Ocean Advocate Renee Bonorchis

Renée works with the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation and its Ocean Campus on campaigns and courses. She has been studying marine sciences for four years and is a scuba instructor who has been at her happiest underwater for the past 25 years. Renée is also a turtle volunteer for the Foundation's Turtle Conservation Centre and runs an ocean conservation project called The Ocean Advocate. From marine biology to oceanography, Renée is fascinated by the sea and its exceptional animals. She believes that if people learn about the ocean and its wonders and also about how it sustains all life, then people will come to love and look after the ocean.
